The Walsingham Pilgrimage 1977

Day 16 - Castle Acre to Walsingham

Following Mass at St James', we head through the Castle as we start our final day

First stop is East Lexham, where Pat Olivier posed by the market cross

before prayers at St Andrew's

then on to another St Andrew's at Wellingham

And so to lunch at the Greyhound, West Raynham

where George sank a pint ... of milk

At Sculthorpe Mill we forded the river (it's not clear whether there was an alternative!)

and Bill was duly ducked (luckily the photo is unclear enough to avoid incriminating anyone!)

At Cranmer House we see the first sign to Walsingham, and get refreshments

At the Slipper Chapel, the pilgrims (now a tradition) join hands: one big family completing its pilgrimage

Then on into Walsingham for a night at the school
