The Glastonbury Pilgrimage 1978

Day 1: Arundel to Chichester

Once again we gathered at St Mary's Hall, after Mass in the Cathedral, ready for the off.

Heading west again, so it's back to the bypass

And then on to the Newburgh Arms at Slindon (as in 1976, though the grass is green this time)

After lunch, it's prayers at St Richard's before we start the afternoon's walk.

A couple of miles further, and we stop again at St Margaret's, Eartham.

At Boxgrove, we pass the ruined priory

before stopping to pray at the parish church of Ss Mary & Blaise with its delightfully decorated roof.

Nearly to Chichester, we stop at All Saints, Portfield

before heading to St Richard's School, our overnight stop.
