The Buckfast Pilgrimage 1980

Day 5: Rest Day in Romsey

Our first rest day, in the market town of Romsey, started with Mass in the Norman Abbey

Concelebrated by the parish priest and Fr Bill

The surroundings were impressive

Back, via the off licence I suggest, for lunch at the Convent.

Lunch duly digested, a large group went to the local swimming pool. The games seem to be continuing here.

And back at the Convent there were ball games and Frisbee on the lawn.

That evening, a large group descended on a local pub with a courtyard garden, where we sang the night away.
