The St Wilfrids Pilgrimage 1981

Day 6: Chichester to Pulborough

Friday morning, usual routine, loading the van, but with a view of the Cathedral.

The Cathedral was our first stop, where we celebrated Mass at St Richard's shrine, accompanied by pilgrim music.

Out of the city, our first prayer stop is at East Lavant...

...a chance for a rest is always welcome

Then it was up towards Goodwood race course, with views back from St Roche's Hill

We continued on up, until we got a view back down onto the racecourse.

Lunch in the garden of the Star and Garter.

Our Anglican chaplain, Philip, makes notes for his sermon.

First prayers of the afternoon were at East Dean.

After further prayers at Holy Trinity, Duncton, the pilgrims head across the fields...

...soon heading towards Burton church

We then passed the old station at Fittleworth...

...before reaching Pulborough Village Hall.
