The Buckfast Centenary Pilgrimage 1982

Day 13: Sidmouth to Exmouth

It was a fairly leisurely start today - time to load the van carefully.

The path down into Sidmouth had lots of kissing gates..

...as it followed the River Sid.

We celebrated Mass at the church of the Most Precious Blood.

Then down to the beach and along the prom...

...before climbing away from the town up Peak Hill.

Then through the woods on High Peak

A relatively early lunch at Ladram Bay...

...where Danny just had to paddle!

Leaving Ladram Bay we got a good view back towards Sidmouth...

...before turning inland to Otterton where we prayed at St Michael's.

The reason for going inland was to bridge the River Otter, which we then followed...

...back to the sea at Budleigh Salterton.

Then over the cliffs to Exmouth...

.. from the convent there was a good view over the Exe estuary - and much of tomorrow's walk.
