Day 14: Exmouth to Chudleigh

Another relatively leisurely start, bringing the luggage to the van...

...studying the map.

A short walk down to the docks, and onto the ferry...

...which would take us across the Exe estuary.

As we disembarked at Starcross an InterCity 125 passed by.

Then it was across the fields to Kenton - even Frances was walking today.

Before lunch we celebrated Holy Communion at All Saints, Kenton.

After lunch we climbed up from Kenton, through Black Forest, to Dawlish College, and so to Mamhead Church

Here we prayed and rested...

...before our "jungle warfare" ascent...

..to the obelisk.

Then the walking got easier for a while...

...as we approached Ashcombe.

Our next stop was Ugbrooke House, where we celebrated Mass.

It was a bit cool in the chapel, and Susan was taken ill, resulting in an ambulance ride.

And then the last few miles into Chudleigh.
