The Buckfast Centenary Pilgrimage 1982

Day 7: Studland to Wool

Duly rested, but another long day in prospect, we return to St Nicholas' for an Anglican Communion service to start our day.

Any way out of Studland is up - but it offers great views back over Poole and Bournemouth.

Over the top of the Isle of Purbeck, an early lunch is in sight at Corfe Castle.

There was no official lunch pub - the village had several options, which clearly included sitting on the war memorial...

...or the steps of the parish church (although it was the small Catholic church we stopped at for prayers).

A hilly walk followed, but hills mean views, here of Worbarrow Bay.

And here's the view of East Lulworth (which we'll visit tomorrow) from Flowers Barrow.

Then the scenic Dorset coast - this is Worbarrow Tout.

And this is Arish Mell and Mupe Bay.

And so we reached West Lulworth, where turned inland to head for Wool...

...where we stayed in the D'Urberville Centre (as you can tell, this is Thomas Hardy's Wessex!)
