The Lindisfarne Pilgrimage 1984

Day 10: Minsteracres to Hexham

After Mass at Minsteracres we set out, and after an hour's walk stopped again. This being a Sunday and with the current positions on intercommunion, this was a stop for an Anglican Eucharist at St John's, Healey. We clearly enjoyed refreshments afterwards before setting out again.

In the early afternoon we passed Broomley.

Shortly afterwards we stopped at St Peter's, Bywell - some were clearly keen to get back into their stride.

Our route followed the Tyne valley, in a circuitous fashion to avoid the main roads.

And so into Hexham, where we found a recording session ongoing using the new tape recorder. the results were hilarious, but perhaps unsuitable for broadcast!
