Day 11: Rest Day in Hexham

Our second much-needed rest day. Starting and finishing at the ancient St Andrew's Abbey.

During the day, we explored. Several of us went swimming, but the pool was over-chlorinated, and we all suffered sore eyes. So bad that we couldn't go into the pubs as they were too smoky! Still, we stood outside and enjoyed the ale, taking it in turns to dash into the bar for supplies. Thus was the expression a "Hexham Pint" born.
