DAY TEN Rest Day in Shrewsbury

Another rest day - and folk rested.

Some chose to exercise their minds with a game of Scrabble - something of a pilgrimage tradition.

As always on a rest day, there was a rota for door duty to ensure the security of the hall and our possessions while a lot of pilgrims were out exploring the town. Not the most interesting of jobs . . .

The boots were bored too, left sitting in a corridor

John, our latest trainee webmaster, put together yesterday's diary page.

Other chose to read, while their washing dried around them.

A few were more energetic and chose to try out the fitness facilities in the gym in which we are sleeping. There were exercise bikes . . .

. . . and walking machines!

Father David said mass for those who chose to attend. Others worshipped at churches in town.

Of course, there were the usual trips to launderettes.

In the evening, the majority of pilgrims went for a meal together at Caffe Uno - a pizza and pasta restaurant.

Rest day over. Hopefully, people have made good use of it as tomorrow will be the longest day of this year's pilgrimage at nearly 23 miles.
