Liverpool-Carlisle Pilgrimage 2014

Day 12: Chapel Stile to Keswick

It's quite a tough morning; as you can see, a 9.8 mile morning is on the long side, plus all the climbing is in the morning. The afternoon is easy and relaxed, although after a tough morning it might feel very long for some people. The morning walk is lovely and remote, and isn't actually too difficult. The climb is meandering but at least steady. It's also nicely sheltered and good under foot. The descent is also easy, and pretty much all of the day is on good, clear paths. The afternoon follows good paths round the quiet side of Derwent Water. Look out for St Herbert's Island in the middle of the Lake.
