Day 10: Usk to Abergavenny

We start with prayers at the Priory Church outside of which is the grave of Fr David Lewis, one of the 40 Martyrs of England and Wales. Then we celebrate mass in the church co-dedicated to him. This is a peaceful, quiet walk. You will only pass through one village between Usk and Abergevenny. The route includes walking along the River Usk, much of it on the Usk Valley Walk. Near the end we walk along the tow path of the delightful Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. There is a section, too long a section, of very quiet country lanes which we take due to the lack of suitable footpaths. On the whole the walk itself is fairly flat except a very short section up to the canal. Enjoy this walk. Our accommodation in Abergavenny is split between 2 halls
