As so often in the past, we start with Mass at Arundel Cathedral, registration and the press photos, then we're off.
Down through the narrow streets of Arundel from the Cathedral on the hilltop.
Lunch, as in 1976, is at the Newburgh Arms at Slindon.
Followed by benediction at St Richards across the road (where Mass has been said continuously since before the Reformation).
Our next stop is at the tiny 12th century church of St Mary the Virgin at Up Waltham
which is also our first drink stop - this year being served from Fr Bill's yellow Renault.
Over the Downs and down to St James at Heyshott (Early English), as on our first two pilgrimages.
And so in to Midhurst and the Convent of Mercy once again. This beautiful green lawn was to haunt us next morning...
