Day 8: Blandford Forum to Dorchester

Another long day in prospect, and we're back at Our Lady of Lourdes & St Cecilia's for Mass at 7.30 in the morning!

First stop is St Mary's, Winterbourne Stickland.

with a bit of road walking leaving the church

We then passed Milton Abbey School

before stopping at All Saints, Hilton, for prayers.

Another couple of miles to a late lunch at the Fox Inn at Ansty

Where the food on offer was good

There followed a long, unbroken, afternoon before, in the early evening we reached St Michael's, Stinsford, where Thomas Hardy is buried.

Only half an hour (but a long one!) from Stinsford into Dorchester, where we stayed at St Genevieve's Convent
