Our day started with Mass at St John's.
A couple of hours' walk, through countryside such as this Hanger, brought us to Friday Street.
Where we lunched at the Royal Oak.
and were entertained by a horse that crossed back and forth across a narrow bridge (as I think we did as we departed)
An hour and a half later we stopped at St John's, Ockley, for prayer.
We then climbed Leith Hill, at 965' the highest point in South East England (the tower takes it above 1,000'). Naturally, we climbed it by the steepest route.
But the view was worth it.
We then descended more gently through the wooded sandstone hills to Dorking.
Once again, we were staying at St Joseph's Church Hall.
Some feet were suffering, but the nurse was on hand.
The mundane things of life must go on - washing up al fresco.
