Following on two long and fairly hilly days - a very long but largely flat day across the Vale of York, between the North York Moors and the Pennines.
First stop, is the Lady's Chapel for Mass.
I must admit that I don't recall the significance, but I'm sure there was lots of history.
For much of the day we traipsed mile after mile across fairly uninteresting farmland
with paths that were little in evidence
Late afternoon prayers was at St Mary's, Bolton-on-Swale
Then we crossed under the A1 and followed the River Swale to Easby Abbey - this really was evening prayer!
Then the final mile and a half into Richmond. Somewhere along this tough day, route planner Patrick jumped off a stile and came to grief, later reappearing with crutches. Yes, as dangerous as it sounds.
