Day 7: Rest Day in Barnard Castle

Well, a day off was very welcome, and many of us just relaxed in and around Barnard Castle. A chance to get some washing done for a start!

 But, as illustrated by this postcard, there are many sights around, and some people had to see them.

Some visited the Bowes Museum.. and sat down!

..or viewed the gardens

Others went to the High Force, where the River Tees squeezes through a tiny gap in the rock and tumbles down.

They sat down there too... all this walking is too much!
