Magnificat - Evesham to Salisbury 2008

Day 15: Celebration Day in Salisbury

Our journey complete for this year, we have a day to explore Salisbury, visit the celebrated cathedral, and scrub up for our celebration meal together.

For some, the celebration day starts with relaxation...

...or the final postcards.

Many walked into the city, some by the originally-planned route to the cathedral.

A chance to walk around the city and see the sights.

For some the walk took them to the cathedral...

The west doors were well and truly closed today.

The sun shone on the cathedral.

Patrick, trying to organise others and lead a group of pilgrims, managed to lose his charges to an ambush from the Gamble clan: he eventually wandered back looking confused!

After lunch on the grass of the cathedral close we returned to the cathedral for a visit.

From the inside you can see why opening the doors was a challenge.
