Arundel Pilgrimage 2015

Day 1: Chertsey to Send

The first walk of the pilgrimage is an undemanding route that takes us, for most of the way, along the the River Wey Navigation Canal. There are no hills! It will be a gentle start to our pilgrimage with pleasant scenery including a beautiful view of Newark Priory at an afternoon prayer stop. There is The Queen's Head public house in Weybridge for our lunch and we pass The Anchor in the afternoon.

The pilgrims have arrived in Send but it is still pretty peaceful.
I was surprised at how pretty the Wey Navigation is and even more surprised to discover the ruins of Newark Abbey. I live in Surrey but I never knew that was there! John Chenery Original Tweet
