From Seaford, we walk along the seashore and then stay on the north side of Mill Creek into Newhaven crossing the River Ouse by the Swing Bridge. We climb the hill to St Michael's Church for a prayer stop. We then continue over Meeching Down Open Space and the Highway to Peacehaven where we follow the cliff top to Saltdean stopping for a drinks-car stop at the carpark by the Meridian Memorial in Peacehaven. At Saltdean we take the under cliff path to Rottingdean where we have two pubic houses waiting for us. Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church awaits us in the village for afternoon prayers. We continue into Brighton on the undercliff path taking a break in the Asda carpark that is at the end of the Marina. Just short of the remains of the Brighton West Pier, we turn north to find St Mary Magdalene School for a two-night stop. The 12, 12A and 12X buses run the whole route on a 10-minute basis throughout the day providing fantastic logistical support.

It was a very wet day as we walked along the coast with the wind and rain driving off the sea- but pilgrims were not as completely soaked as on some occasions I can remember e.g. Tenby 1992 John Chenery Original Tweet
