Sidmouth is a pretty town on the Jurassic Coast offering a wealth of holiday activities to enjoy. Pilgrims may wish to shower or swim at the swimming pool (closes 21.00) 5 minutes from the hall: walk right down High Street, turn left at the path between McColls and Boots Optician and walk across the car park. The information centre is next door to the swimming pool. To visit the only launderette in town, turn left out of the hall, walk a mile up High Street, forking left at Arcot Road, or take the bus 9 or 9a (bound for Exeter) up to the Woolbrook Launderette: open 07.00-20.00. To access the peaceful Blackmore Gardens behind the hall: turn left out of the hall into High Street, then immediately left into Blackmore Drive. There are shops, cafes and pubs close by in High Street and Fore Street. The RC church is 5 minutes left up the High Street and the Anglican Church is just along the passage beyond the hall, and thence a short walk to the esplanade, cafe & beach.
