From Haslemere, we climb up to Black Down and visit the “Temple of the Winds”, the highest point in Sussex. Later we pass through flower planted meadows and hopefully see innumerable butterflies on the way to Midhurst. On reaching Midhurst, we go straight to the Catholic church for the Vigil Mass of Sunday and then we eat our supper in the Catholic church hall, before dispersing to the 2 halls that we are sleeping in.

Midhurst was the first night's stop on several of our earliest pilgrimages, and the sisters who met us at the Church remember our 1975 visit. This is our first night in Cathedral Deanery.
