The Bath Pilgrimage 1986

Day 4: Haslemere to Alton

Another morning, the same van to load!

First stop is Holy Cross Hospital (run by the nuns who gave us our crosses for the first pilgrimage) where we would celebrate Mass. Come on pilgrims, you're supposed to walk!

Boots off for Mass.

Sister Rachel meets an old friend.

Coffee after Mass, while Tom and Jackie brief Fr Reg (the hospital chaplain).

We're on our way again, leaving the hospital...

...and passing Shottermill Pond.

Leaving after prayers at St Peter's, Linchmere, a stop on our very first pilgrimage.

Is that an apparition in the tree? No, it's Steve!

Approaching lunch at Liphook.

Today's leader, Peter, is joined by his family.

Tony has to sit on the wall.

After lunch, off across the golf course.

What's all this attention to boots?

Ah, Mo, Joe and Steve had clearly found "the wet bits"!

Into Selborne and past the Gilbert White museum.

Resting outside the church.

St Mary's, Selborne.

St Francis' window.

Approaching St Leonard's, Hartley Mauditt, where there had been an incident with the arrows.

Our rest day accommodation, Alton Community Centre.
