Our well-deserved rest day started early for Peter!
In the morning we were joined by dozens of youngsters collecting their GCSE results - Aidan (son of pilgrims Nick & Claire and my godson) was celebrating excellent results.
Stephen took the opportunity to manage his photos on the laptop
while Davis was among those cleaning and waxing their boots
others relaxed - the Wrinkly Rockets became the Wrinkly Readers (or is it the Reading Rockets?)
Some just enjoyed the sunshine
We went into the City - some on foot and some on the SuperTram.
Many attended Mass at the RC Cathedral of St Marie
Then we visited the Anglican Cathedral - this is St Katharine's Chapel
and here Stephen is taking pictures in the military chapel
On the way out we saw the last 4 bottles of "Sheffield Cathedral Ale" up for offers.
On the way back I stopped at the station and caught a train or two for Jules - the first for Hull, the other Liverpool.
People passed their days in different ways; some ate out, others brought in a takeaway.
And then, a sing song (accompanied by Joe and his monkey)
Patrick and his guitar, and Jonnie and his bongoes
Nick and his voice plus Clare
and the rest of us doing our bit
Nearly time for bed, we sang Father Joe's hymn...
Nasema asante, ewe Mungu wangu.
I give thanks to God
Wewe mi alfa na omega
You are the alpha and the omega
Hakuna Mungu kama wewe
There is no God like you
Wewe ni Mungu wa upendo
You are the God of love
Wewe ni Mungu wa huruma
You are the God of mercy
Well, we're walking again tomorrow, so Goodnight All!
