A magnificent day of walking along the Ceredigion Coast Path, but don't be fooled by the short distance of 13.5 miles. Streams regularly cut through the cliffs on their way to the sea so there are several steep descents and ascents (often via steps) which make this the hilliest day of the pilgrimage. It's a fascinating day for geologists and biologists. Look out to sea and you might see dolphins or seals. Close to the coast path you will see a variety of bird species, and when we were route planning we even saw a badger scampering along a few yards from the path. Near the end of the day we pause at the Cardigan Bay lookout shelter and take in the views as far South as Cardigan and as far North as Snowdon. Before that it may be possible to swim at some of the beaches that we pass.
Up, bags packed, the van packers get into full swing.
Theresa makes sure we leave the hall clean. (Howard and Aruna were seen helping too).
Bill leads the setting out prayers.
Off along the coast path, we saw several old railway carriages converted into homes.
Descending towards Tresaith.
Julia looks happy to be having a rest on the ascent out of Tresaith.
Great views up the coast.
Looking forward to Penbryn beach.
Lot of montbretia grew wild on the cliffs - Danny picked some for his hat.
More lovely views.
Rev Ian Forster welcomed us to St Michael's, Penbryn, for our eucharist.
We had a great celebration, and Ian chatted to us as we set out again.
