Our rest day base is inconvenient for Aberystwyth town centre - but at least does have its own launderette!
Breakfast - spilling out into the garden.
Mass in the garden - the musicians.
Everyone sitting in front of the house.
Maurice and Julia make their bidding prayers.
Alexe offers her salt - it gives flavour to the food.
Aid and Clare organise the car.
Young pilgrims enjoy the hot tub.
Pilgrims take their washing to the launderette (some used the on site facilities).
Lunch time.
View from the balcony - the tents and the hills beyond.
No phone in the phone box, so you have to bring your own.
Chilling during the afternoon.
Several pilgrims took the narrow-gauge railway to Devil's Bridge (others drove there).
Locomotive for Julian. Julian writes The Vale of Rheidol line was the very last bastion of timetabled steam on British Rail. The line was owned and operated by British Rail right up to privatisation in 1989. In the 1970s even the locos were painted in British Rail blue and the coaches in Inter-City Blue/Grey. Thankfully sense has prevailed in a) keeping the line open and b) taking it back to Great Western Railway times.
It was a bit wet!
Four bridges (well, the 3 bridges and Bridget)
The waterfalls...
...improved by the rain.
One of the bridges over the gorge.
The power of water.
A takeaway meal - others had a BBQ (in the drizzle).
And a sing-song before bed.
