Today's walk, the second-longest of the pilgrimage, is mostly through gently undulating farmland. Lots of fields and stiles, and some pleasant views. We have an extended stop at LLancarfan in the morning to view and listen to a talk on the famous wall-paintings. Before Peterston-super-Ely after lunch, we go across some marshy meadows owned by the Welsh National Trust. As we approach Cardiff, the landscape changes. Just after St Fagans there is a pleasant woodland walk and then it is all roadwork, apart from one park, to reach our hall in the Caton district of Cardiff. We are less than a mile away from Cardiff Castle in the city centre if anybody fancies an evening stroll; we won't be going into the centre tomorrow.

A brief respite after passing close by bullocks (John C writes: leading this day with Louise, I had done a brilliant job, more by accident than design, of herding the bullocks into a corner away from the pilgrims, and here the pilgrims were pausing to let the frontmarkers get ahead again) David Fletcher
