Today we shall be following the Taff Trail most of the way from Cardiff to Caerphilly. After the service at Llandaff Cathedral we shall walk close to the River Taff until we come to a footbridge just after the M4 motorway. We then turn right and it is only then a short walk to Tongwynlais and the Lewis Arms for lunch where we will be made very welcome. The food and drink is very good too but you will have to eat your own elsewhere. After lunch we climb a road up to Castell Coch for a short break before we tackle an even steeper climb up through the woods. Once at the top the walk remains fairly wooded until we reach Caerphilly, the chief feature of which is its castle. Our accommodation in Caerphilly is split between 2 church halls.
