We start today with an unavoidable long uphill urban trek. When we reach Woodingdean we have allowed extra time to pop into the pub next door for refreshments as well as praying in the church. Then we head up Newmarket Hill and follow a long section of the South Downs Way, descending to Rodmell for a late lunch stop. After lunch the scenery changes as we walk alongside the River Ouse to the edge of Newhaven, before more country walking into Seaford.

Our official stop in Brighton Deanery> They are working on the roof of the church so it was quieter to celebrate Mass in the hall beneath, where we had slept.
