The Jubilee Pilgrimage of Hope 2024

Day 14: Seaford to Eastbourne

Today's walk starts off being hilly as we climb out of Seaford and go along the South Downs way. On reaching Cuckmere Haven we go in land and reach the Seven Sisters Country Park. We then have more hills to climb (some of those sisters!) before we use the Crowlink path to take us to Friston and our lunch stop at The Tiger Inn at East Dean. After lunch we have prayers at East Dean Church. We then follow a flatter inland route which takes us through Eastbourne Downs Golf course and into Eastbourne. Then we pray at the Holywell at the bottom of the cliffs. We suggest that anybody who have difficulty with hilly terrain catch the bus from Seaford to East Dean and join us at the lunch stop. At the end of the walk we gather at the bandstand and process in together to our accommodation in Our Lady of Ransom church. We have our arrival service in the church after supper.

Seaford Baptist Church

There's a lovely church above the halls in which we'd slept, where we celebrated a healing service, praying for friends and family who are unwell.
