Day 12 - Eastbourne to Peacehaven

A long day but a great walk, out from Eastbourne

over Beachy Head

 

and the Seven Sisters.

Leaving the coast at Cuckmere Haven, we turned inland through woods. Here one of the day pilgrims, walking in bare feet, encountered some wire in the mud and we had to carry her to the lunch pub, which was very welcome!

We rejoined the coast at Newhaven (where we had Benediction and tea). The busy little port was a bit of a shock - we'd been apart from civilisation for over a week!

Still another couple of hours' walk brought us to our destination, the Immaculate Conception Hall at Peacehaven.
